Me: (finishing some silly conversation) "...Tra-la-la, tro-lo-lo..."
Rissi: "I hear 'Tro-Lo-Lo' starting."
Me: "Ugh -- thanks. You're right; I heard it start playing in my head and I was like 'Noooo-ho!"
Rissi: "Tro-no-no?"
Me (sings) "Tro-no-no-no-no -- damnit!"

Me: 0
Rissi: 1

Okay okay -- Distant Worlds concert was awesome. SO FUN. I mean, high society and cosplay CAN coexist! (and it was all good cosplay. One or two close to great, but mostly good.)

The music was wonderful -- and featured, among many other wonderful things, the US premier performance of "Eyes on Me" and the best rendition of the opera from FF4 I've ever heard. It was wonderful!

As for the encore, I don't know if One Winged Angel should regularly be done with the audience as the chorus, but it was FUN.

Memorable comment: "If I didn't know that was a White Mage, I'd be offended!" -- this from the animated, friendly young African-American man in the seat behind me, while looking at another young man nearby who was dressed in a long white robe with a hood (and red triangles on the hems). Me: *looks from one to the other* (O__o) "... ... ...Good gosh, you're right!" *laugh*

I had a great time, and so did Cloud -- I took my little UFO catcher there, and he got lots of smiles.

More later, falling down now. ^^;;

Since I posted the request for topics, I have received several wonderful requests -- which I shall answer in order. Or something like an order... whether it's an order of Chinese take-away, or an order of "get down and give me 20!", or maybe an online order of something nice, or... um, what was I saying?

Right-o, requests:

life update please! how are you doing?

Things are interesting, mostly in a good way. I have been under treatment for ADHD for a few months now, and it's made a tremendous difference in my ability to focus and stick with something. I'm no longer "about to be fired at any second" at work; in fact, I'm starting to get more interesting tasks and more responsibility. It's kind of nice that my boss is willing to trust me so quickly; she understands that it really was the condition and not "me".

I remember you were looking at other jobs - how did that go?

Not so graet, ackshully... the only jobs I could find were, for the most part, the same as the job I have already. And that one's working out better -- for now. Also, I realized I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking for... I know what I like, and I know what I can do, but I'm not sure what I *want*. So... I'm going to a career counselor next month, someone who will teach me a process for evaluating a job to see if it's something I can do or learn, something I like, and something that I'd value. I don't expect to leave with a clear picture of exactly what job i want, but I do expect to come out of this with confidence that I'll be able to look at a job and say "yes", "no" or "OMG FINALLY". And aim my job search in the right direction to get closer to that last one.

Also, while I have not yet started taking classes, I hope to do so in the next semester.

Is the red couch still awesome?

It is SO awesome that everyone sleeps on it instead of the guest bed. It is still a great place for kitties and people to come together. (Remind me to find a place to put pictures so I can introduce yinz to the newest feline member of da fambly... he's an orange rescue boy whose name is Pi. Mathematically speaking, he has earned the name.)

I MISS YOU wait that's not a post topic.

It should be. I miss you too! ♥ >^-.o^<

...And really I miss all my friends online, which is why I'm trying to write. ^__^ Feel free to add more to the topics!

Since I have wanted to crawl out of my shell a bit and start to interact with the world again, I'm going to shamelessly yoink* a meme from the lovely [personal profile] soranokumo:

Leave me a topic to write a post about. Serious, funny, anything in between.

Taking another note from my source, I shall screen all comments here -- but look for the posts, please! :)

And thanks in advance for the topics. I'm hoping to have a lot of good things to write for you and for me!

*[yoink v.: to steal, imitate, or otherwise shamelessly copy something from a separate group or individual in a quick but ridiculously non-subtle fashion. pl.: yoinks, past: yoinked, KOL: horked See: snitch, pinch]

Well, actually, from [personal profile] soranokumo's brother, who wrote to me to say that she borrowed a phone and called home to say she's okay, except for a touch of the flu that a lot of the foreigners have been coming down with there. No worries there -- it could even be the "adjusting to a weird place" flu.

She's also training and has gotten a chance to work with the kids just a little bit.

There aren't any phone cards available, and communications are still tough, her brother added, but they'd all appreciate it if I could pass the news on.

Catt is thinking of you all. Keep wishing her well! <3
